Our Mull journey begins 40 years ago.
As a child Hannah would visit Mull and Iona with her family, each visit the outdoors adventure would seep deeper into her skin. For 8 years her father lived in Fionphort running the bed and breakfast Staffa House and throughout this time the spirit of adventure set in. Hospitality you could say runs in the family.
Over the last 20 years visiting Mull with Steve and then with Jack has always been our go-to place to explore, escape, relax and unwind. Steve fell in love with the island and the majesty it holds. It was Steve who first felt the desire to live here as a family to fully embrace all it has to offer. Jack has always known the island and loved the sense of adventure and freedom it hands out in bucket loads. You will often find him at his sailing club or swimming in the sea (no matter what the weather).
Deciding to relocate to the island in August 2021 was a big decision but one the three of us embraced together. Each of us wanted different things. Hannah wanted a sense of community and freedom for Jack. Steve wanted to live by the sea and to work for ourselves. Jack wanted to be close to the sea and learn how to sail. His goal is to have his own boat!!
Each of us are enjoying island life and the different adventures it brings. We are meeting some wonderful people and settling into a new relaxed way of ‘being’. Jack is enjoying the school in Tobermory and no doubt you will see him and possibly some friends playing around!!
